New Zealand tattoo artist, Benjamin Lloyd has taken the
age restrictions off the world of ink. Benjamin has been airbrushing adults for
10 years but recently decided to spread his art onto the youth of New Zealand
as well. He had an idea to start airbrushing temporary and non-toxic custom
tattoos onto kids at the Starship’s Children Hospital in New Zealand. Benjamin
began this heartwarming activity purely because “nothing brings [him] more joy
than boosting kid’s confidence with a custom tattoo.” He posts pictures on his
facebook page of his new creations along with captions such as, "I can't explain the feeling it gives me to put a
smile on their faces." He has received an outstanding amount of positive
support and feedback for his act. He started by posting on facebook saying that
if he got 50 likes he would airbrush tattoos on kids at the local hospital. His
post has since reached upwards of 430, 000 likes from people across the world.
When
I read through this story, I found it extremely touching. It’s amazing to see
someone be able to create such a positive atmosphere by doing what they love. I
have since looked up Benjamin’s facebook page and seen that he is continuing to
airbrush people in hospitals and he posts pictures of his tattoos and other
work on his page. Looking through his art and designs I was very impressed to
see just how talented he is at this skill. The smiles on the kid’s faces in the
pictures speak for themselves. It’s clear that this act brings joy to both the
patients and to Benjamin. These kids have so much strength already that getting
these amazing custom tattoos will only make them feel tougher. This article
proves that spreading positivity doesn’t have to be difficult. By doing what he
loves, Benjamin is able to put smiles on kids’ faces that otherwise may not
have been there.
